Is there ever going to be a point when Richard Gere stops being hot? Well, he’s like 60 and it hasn’t happened yet! I went to see his new movie Arbitrage last night. It was playing at the new theatre at Lincoln Center. The movie was very well written and the acting was great. I highly recommend it. For some vintage Richard, check out American Gigilo on Netflix, another awesome movie.
What celebrities do you guys think have gotten hotter with age? (Jenifer Aniston is another one that comes to mind, BTW doesn’t this outfit look like something she would wear? ) And what’s your favorite Richard Gere movie?
Guess what? Today is a special day! My little angel Miro turns 9 today! I can’t believe it, it seems like just yesterday she was a puppy. She had a wonderful day. I got her a bunch of presents from Petco, her favorite was a stuffed pumpkin toy. Then she put on her favorite diva dress, hopped in her stroller and went to dinner with Michael and me. We took her to a Mexican restaurant in my neighborhood, she was loving all the attention from the servers and other customers. She got her own little plate of chicken, which she enjoyed thoroughly. After dinner we took her for a long walk by the water. I’d say it was a pretty good birthday. Anyway, just wanted to say how much I love this little girl. I feel so blessed to be her mommy.
How old are your pets? What do you do to celebrate their birthdays? And most importantly, how cute does Miro look in her birthday dress?

It seems like I’ve been gone forever. I almost forgot how to do a blog post! I missed you all, and I really missed blogging and sharing my life and my outfits with you. I wish I could say I haven’t been writing cause I spent the summer traveling in South America or something ( Someday ) But the truth is, it’s been a pretty difficult few months. A friend of mine passed away very unexpectedly. She was such a beautiful person and I miss her so much. I had to take some time to really mourn her loss, but now I feel the best way to honor her is to live my life to the fullest and do the things that bring me the most joy. Which of course includes spending time on my top 3 loves: Fashion, pugs, and writing. But not in that order So expect to see a lot more blog posts. I’m happy to be back. How was everyones summer? What brings you the most joy during difficult times?

You know how much I love animals and the zoo is one of my favorite places to visit. I usually go to the Bronx zoo, but this week I went to the Central Park zoo because I heard they had a petting zoo and I really wanted to pet a pig! Someday I want to have a micro pig as a pet, that’s at the top of my bucket list! But only if she gets along with my pugs. I think pugs and pigs have a lot in common, so they would probably be good friends Have you ever wanted an exotic pet? Whats you’re favorite animal?
I love seals too!
I forget what this little guy is called, but he sure is cute!
How could I resist this photo op?
Here’s a better look at the purse!
Making a new friend!
Who wouldn’t want one of these guys roaming around the house?

Sorry about the shortage of posts lately. I’ve been focusing really intensely on my novel and I’m happy to say I’m almost done with the first draft!
Last week I went to an awesome event benefiting a non-profit poetry library here in NYC. It’s called Poets House, It’s a wonderful organization and actually located right in my neighborhood.
I had a writing class right before this event, so it was a challenge to find an outfit that was appropriate for both settings, along with a purse big enough to hold my giant folder of papers. I think I did pretty well Thanks to Pam for taking these pictures. She is my favorite photographer. No offense to Michael
Do you have an outfit that works for both casual and formal occasions? I’d love to know what it is. Also, any other fans of poetry out there?

This was a double Brooklyn weekend. Even though I live right next to the Brooklyn Bridge, I hadn’t been to Brooklyn in probably a year, but this weeked I went twice! This is the outfit I wore on Saturday night to a performance of The Caretaker at BAM. I really enjoyed it. My writing teacher recommended it. It was a lot better than Death of a Salesman On Sunday, I returned to check out the Brooklyn flea market. I bought an awesome polka dot vintage dress, which I’lll show you in my next outfit of the day post. I almost called this post Outfit of the Day: Kardashian Edition, cause doesn’t this dress look like something Kim would wear? Ok, I’ll admit, I’m a fan I don’t know why she has so many haters. Whats your favorite thing to do in Brooklyn and more importantly, who’s your favorite Kardashian?
Does your dog have doggles? Didn’t think so! Miro tried these on at the vets office today. Isn’t this pic hilarious? She actually seemed to enjoy wearing them. I’m going to order a pair for her because she’s been having some eye issues and besides being the cutest thing ever, they will help protect her eyes. Have any of you guys tried doggles for your dog? Did they stay on? What style did you get? For Miro I’m thinking either hot pink or leopard print! Here’s to a healthy happy summer for all of our pets!

How was everyones weekend? Mine was pretty good. This outfit is from Saturday, I went to see Death of a Salesman on Broadway. The acting and sets were amazing, only I’d forgotten how sad it was! Confession: I had to leave half way through. I’m such a wimp when it comes to sad movies or plays. I just cannot sit through them. Or if I do manage, hours later I’m still upset.
I know, I’m way too sensitive! You know what I think are the two saddest movies of all time? ET and Forrest Gump. Everyone laughs at me when I say that, but seriously, I will cry just thinking about ET getting kidnapped by those scientists. Or when Jenny dumps Forrest. OMG, I lose all faith in humanity.! Anyway, I learned my lesson this weekend, no more tear jerkers for me Do you guys like sad movies? I have one friend who absolutely loves them, weird huh? What was the last movie or show that made you cry?

I know it’s been forever since I’ve posted, sorry about that! I’ve been really busy with work on my novel, which I’ll write more about later.
Last week I attended the Broadway Mall Spring Gala Benefit with some friends. I had a great time. It included a reception at Cafe du Soleil followed by a show at Symphony Space. The show was wonderful. My favorite part was a performance by the Ballet Hispanico. I snapped a picture before I was told that cameras weren’t allowed All of the proceeds for this event went to help beautify the streets of NYC, a very worthy cause!
Have you guys been to any fun benefits or fundraisers lately? Someday I’d like to organize my own benefit to help homeless pugs. When it happens, you guys are all invited!
A girl can never have too many little black dresses, especially in NYC! This is one of my favorites.
